PROHIBITED ITEMS OF CRUISE LINES
Before you can enjoy your cruise, there are some restricted items that different cruise lines implement and it’s worth checking the list. If they find that you brought some of these items, this may result in the following:
confiscation of the item; disposal of the item at the time of boarding ; or may result in denying you boarding completely!
here are some of the items prohibited from different cruise lines:
Royal Caribbean
Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas.
Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.)
Illegal Drugs & Substances
CBD Oil / CBD Products
Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy is curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However, "torch lighters" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited.
Hoverboards
Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Sports Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks.
Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.
Hookahs & Water Hookah Pipes
HAM Radios
Electrical Extension Cords
Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint.
Perishable Food & Meat Products
Alcoholic Beverages (beer, seltzer or hard liquor) seized on embarkation day will not be returned.

2. CELEBRITY CRUISES
Items with Heating Elements or Open Flames
Certain items that generate heat or produce an open flame are not permitted onboard. This includes clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. Curling irons and hair dryers are allowed.
Marijuana Prohibited
Marijuana, even in its medicinal form or for medicinal purposes, is prohibited.
Drugs or Other Illegal Substances Prohibited
Illegal drugs and other illegal substances are neither allowed onboard nor permitted to be used during a Celebrity Cruises vacation, including during transfers to and from ships, inside terminals, while onboard, at ports of call, during shore excursions, and at our private destinations. Illegal drugs and substances will be confiscated, and Celebrity Cruises reserves the right to, at its discretion, report violations of this nature to the appropriate authorities. Jurisdictions traveled through during the voyage may have strict laws that address and severely punish drug possession. Guests found in violation of such laws are subject to arrest and prosecution in the relevant jurisdiction, including United States or other relevant authorities, and may be prevented from boarding or re-boarding the ship.Weapons, Explosives or Other Dangerous Items Prohibited
No weapon, ammunition, explosive, firework, or other item that presents a risk of harm to persons and/or property is permitted onboard. The determination regarding items constituting a risk of harm to persons and/or property is left solely to the discretion of Celebrity Cruises. Items not permitted onboard will be confiscated by the ship’s Security.
Firearms and other weapons are not allowed onboard. Guests who declare, to the ship’s personnel, the presence of a firearm or other weapon on their person or in their luggage will be given the opportunity to dispose of it prior to boarding. Guests who fail to declare the presence of a firearm or other weapon may be denied boarding or removed from the ship. Items such as dive knives must be reported to the ship’s personnel at the time of boarding. Such items may be permitted onboard but held in safe custody by the ship's Security staff when not in use ashore.

3. virgin voyages
Illegal Drugs and illegal substances: all illegal drugs, non-prescribed controlled substances, medically prescribed marijuana or synthetic marijuana and CBD products are prohibited
Firearms and weapons: all firearms and weapons, ammunition, explosives and incendiary devices are prohibited, with the following exception: Law Enforcement Officers and contracted Security Staff while on duty and while in their area of jurisdiction
Replicas of any firearms or ammunition
Explosives: all explosives, incendiaries and pyrotechnic items
Flammable Items: all items with open flames or heating elements are prohibited; with the exception of hair curling irons and hair dryers which are permitted onboard. Flammable items include, but are not limited to the following:
Candles and incense
Extension cords and multi-plug power strips - Electrical to approve
Seasonal and/or celebratory light bulb strings- Electrical to approve
Any appliance with a heating body or element
Any flammable liquids, fuels, paints, or thinners
Aerosols, except for personal care toiletries which are permitted

Knives and sharp objects: all knives with a blade larger than 4 inches are prohibited. Other sharp objects, such as scissors with blades longer than 4 inches, which could reasonably be used as a weapon, are also not allowed.
Personal grooming items exception: personal grooming items such as metal nail files, cuticle tools, scissors for trimming facial hair, manicure sets and other similar small personal grooming items, are permitted onboard.

Passengers can bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags.
Small quantities of water, dietary supplement drinks, non-alcoholic beer, or soft drinks in boxes and cans are permitted in hand luggage only. Drinks in bottles (glass or plastic) are not permitted. A small quantity is considered a maximum of twelve (12) sealed, unopened cans/cartons of twelve 12 ounces each or less per person.

6. disney cruise line
Disney Cruise Line has a zero weapons policy and prohibits the following items on board the ships and ashore at Disney Castaway Cay:

In accordance with United States federal regulations and local laws in the destinations where we visit, illegal narcotics/drugs, including synthetic, designer drugs and medically prescribed marijuana, are prohibited on board the ships and on Disney Castaway Cay. Additionally, all drug paraphernalia used for marijuana, cannabis and hemp is prohibited. Medically prescribed marijuana, as well as items derived from or enriched by marijuana, including items and products that contain THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and or CBD (Cannabidiol), are also prohibited.

7. princess cruises
All firearms including non-firing weapons. An exception to this rule is law enforcement agents acting in an official capacity and certified armed security guards acting in an official capacity (with full permission of the ship’s Master).
All forms of ammunition, explosive materials and propellants, projectiles of all kinds, cartridges.
All imitation or replica weapons including de-commissioned weapons, those not capable of being fired and realistic imitation/toy weapons.
Air/Pellet guns or any other variety of projectile firing weapon.
Stun Guns, Tasers or any other electroshock device.
All explosives and explosive device components including but not limited to military, civilian and safety devices, detonators, detonation cords, blasting caps, smoke cartridges, grenades, mines, imitation explosives/devices.
Fireworks, Flares and Pyrotechnics
Knives (with a blade over 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches), or 1.25 cm (½ inch) at widest point). bladed weapons, sharp pointed weapons, daggers, sabers, swords, axes, ice axes, hatchets, straight razors (shaving safety razors are allowed), razor blades not in a cartridge, box cutters, ice picks, meat cleavers, and utility knives, (unless specifically authorized for personnel who in the normal course of their duties on board the ship require to be in possession of a knife with a more substantial blade i.e. Galley Staff and Deck Ratings).
Flick knives, gravity knives, switchblades or lock knives. Small locking pocket-knife with blade lengths less than 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches) and widths ½ inch or less are allowed.
Concealed bladed weapons such as belt buckles knives, cane and umbrella knives/swords, pen knives and credit card knives.
Recreational Diver’s Knives unless accompanied by other diving/snorkeling equipment and a valid diving ID card/license (must be held in the custody of the Security Officer). Dive knives may be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise whereby 24 hours’ notice is provided.
Diver’s spears and spear guns/slings.
Ceremonial knives/swords as well as entertainment props are at times permitted with prior notification from the Fleet Security Department (must be held on-board in the same manner as dive knives).
Scissors with blades longer than 4 inches.
Telescopic or regular truncheons/batons/clubs/coshes/nightsticks/billy clubs/blow pipes/ASPs and or any other item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon.

Medical gas bottles are allowed in connection with a certified medical condition but cannot be packed in baggage. Oxygen cylinders must be delivered to Guest Services and stored in a designated safe area. Oxygen cylinders are not x-rayed.
Drones also referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicle (RPA), and any other remote-controlled aerial devices/toys. (The exception is when permitted for company sponsored events when approved in advance by Fleet Security).
Any other item made, adapted or intended for use as a weapon.

Surfboards – (Boogie boards no longer than 42 inches in length are allowed).
Boats/canoes/kayaks
Coolers - only coolers approximately 12 x 12 x 12 in size (holds 6-12 cans of non-alcoholic beverages) are allowed. Guests carrying larger sizes will be directed to return them to their vehicle. If the guest is without a vehicle, the cooler will be destroyed in the same manner as other prohibited items. Exception: if the cooler is larger and contains baby food/formula, kosher food/special dietary food or medication - these must be hand-carried. Coolers cannot be accepted as checked baggage. Whenever there is doubt an embarkation supervisor or shipboard personnel can be contacted to make the decision.
Scooters (only permitted if used for mobility), boats/canoes/kayaks, Segways (only permitted ashore if used for mobility limitations – cannot be used on board the ship), Heely Shoes, Hoverboards/self-balancing scooters.
The above list is not exhaustive. The Ship Security Officer and Staff Captain are authorized to make a professional judgment as to the legality of any item, declared, detected or discovered.
*Electrical devices such as small fans, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, power strips/extension cords without surge protectors and electric extension cords with surge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution and following inspection/tests from the onboard electrical department. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard then they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.

8. carnival cruises
Any illegal narcotics/drugs including synthetic, designer drugs, Cannabidiol (CBD) and medical marijuana. While certain CBD products used for medicinal purposes may be legal in the US, they are not legal in all the ports we visit and therefore are also considered prohibited items.
All weapons and any item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon: firearms (including replicas, imitations and their components), spears or spear guns, crossbows, crossbow bolts and long bow arrows; blunt weapons, including knuckle dusters, brass knuckles, clubs, coshes, batons, flails or Nunchaku; sharp pointed weapons, including throwing stars; air, BB, pellet pistols or rifles, stun devices and tasers, any projectile-weapon, including paintball guns, etc.
All items containing incapacitating substances, such as gas guns, tear gas sprays, mace, phosphorus, acid and other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable
All ammunition
All explosives, including imitation explosives and devices

Electrical and household appliances containing any kind of heating element, such as irons, clothes steamers, immersion heaters, heating blankets, water heaters, coffee machines, hot plates, toasters, heating pads, humidifier, etc. (All Carnival ships provide facilities with ironing boards and irons; fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)
Knives, scissors and open razors. (Recreational dive knives are allowed but must be held in the custody of the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer and must be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise. Large scissors used by scrapbook and quilting enthusiasts are at times permitted with prior notification from the Security Services Department but are held on board in the same manner as dive knives.)

This includes hammers, drills, drill bits, crow bars, saws, power saws, chef/cooking knives/utensils, tools greater than 7 inches in length such as screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers (unless prior authorization is provided by Corporate Headquarters and strict controls are maintained on-board).
Surfboards - (Boogie boards no longer than 42 inches in length are allowed).
Coolers, only coolers approximately 12 x 12 x 12 inches in size (holds 6-12 cans of non-alcoholic beverages) are allowed. Guests carrying larger sizes will be directed to return them to their vehicle. If the guest is without a vehicle, the cooler will be destroyed in the same manner as other prohibited items.
Exception: if the cooler is larger and contains baby food/formula, kosher food/special diet food or medication — these must be hand-carried. Coolers cannot be accepted as checked baggage. Whenever there is doubt an embarkation supervisor or shipboard personnel can be contacted to make the decision.Scooters (only permitted if used for mobility), boats/canoes/kayaks, Segways (only permitted ashore if used for mobility limitations – cannot be used onboard the ship ), Heely Shoes, Hoverboards/self-balancing scooters.
Electrical devices such as small fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords withoutsurge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard they will be confiscated.

Medical gas bottles are allowed in connection with a certified medical condition but cannot be packed in baggage. Oxygen cylinders must be delivered to the pursers’ office and stored in a designated safe area
Any items or amounts of currency prohibited by customs regulations
