PROHIBITED ITEMS OF CRUISE LINES

Before you can enjoy your cruise, there are some restricted items that different cruise lines implement and it’s worth checking the list. If they find that you brought some of these items, this may result in the following:

confiscation of the item; disposal of the item at the time of boarding ; or may result in denying you boarding completely!

here are some of the items prohibited from different cruise lines:

  1. Royal Caribbean

  • Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas.

  • Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.)

  • Illegal Drugs & Substances

  • CBD Oil / CBD Products

  • Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy is curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However, "torch lighters" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited.

  • Hoverboards

  • Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Sports Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks.

  • Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.

  • Hookahs & Water Hookah Pipes

  • HAM Radios

  • Electrical Extension Cords

  • Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint.

  • Perishable Food & Meat Products

  • Alcoholic Beverages (beer, seltzer or hard liquor) seized on embarkation day will not be returned.

2. CELEBRITY CRUISES

  • Items with Heating Elements or Open Flames

    Certain items that generate heat or produce an open flame are not permitted onboard. This includes clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. Curling irons and hair dryers are allowed. 

  • Marijuana Prohibited

    Marijuana, even in its medicinal form or for medicinal purposes, is prohibited.

  • Drugs or Other Illegal Substances Prohibited
    Illegal drugs and other illegal substances are neither allowed onboard nor permitted to be used during a Celebrity Cruises vacation, including during transfers to and from ships, inside terminals, while onboard, at ports of call, during shore excursions, and at our private destinations. Illegal drugs and substances will be confiscated, and Celebrity Cruises reserves the right to, at its discretion, report violations of this nature to the appropriate authorities. Jurisdictions traveled through during the voyage may have strict laws that address and severely punish drug possession. Guests found in violation of such laws are subject to arrest and prosecution in the relevant jurisdiction, including United States or other relevant authorities, and may be prevented from boarding or re-boarding the ship.

  •  Weapons, Explosives or Other Dangerous Items Prohibited

    No weapon, ammunition, explosive, firework, or other item that presents a risk of harm to persons and/or property is permitted onboard. The determination regarding items constituting a risk of harm to persons and/or property is left solely to the discretion of Celebrity Cruises. Items not permitted onboard will be confiscated by the ship’s Security.

    Firearms and other weapons are not allowed onboard. Guests who declare, to the ship’s personnel, the presence of a firearm or other weapon on their person or in their luggage will be given the opportunity to dispose of it prior to boarding. Guests who fail to declare the presence of a firearm or other weapon may be denied boarding or removed from the ship. Items such as dive knives must be reported to the ship’s personnel at the time of boarding. Such items may be permitted onboard but held in safe custody by the ship's Security staff when not in use ashore.

3. virgin voyages

  • Illegal Drugs and illegal substances: all illegal drugs, non-prescribed controlled substances, medically prescribed marijuana or synthetic marijuana and CBD products are prohibited

  • Firearms and weapons: all firearms and weapons, ammunition, explosives and incendiary devices are prohibited, with the following exception: Law Enforcement Officers and contracted Security Staff while on duty and while in their area of jurisdiction

  • Replicas of any firearms or ammunition

  • Explosives: all explosives, incendiaries and pyrotechnic items

  • Flammable Items: all items with open flames or heating elements are prohibited; with the exception of hair curling irons and hair dryers which are permitted onboard. Flammable items include, but are not limited to the following:

    Candles and incense

    Extension cords and multi-plug power strips - Electrical to approve

    Seasonal and/or celebratory light bulb strings- Electrical to approve

    Any appliance with a heating body or element

    Any flammable liquids, fuels, paints, or thinners

    Aerosols, except for personal care toiletries which are permitted

    Large batteries

    Gas torches

    Flares

    Hookahs & water hookah pipes

  • Knives and sharp objects: all knives with a blade larger than 4 inches are prohibited. Other sharp objects, such as scissors with blades longer than 4 inches, which could reasonably be used as a weapon, are also not allowed.

  • Personal grooming items exception: personal grooming items such as metal nail files, cuticle tools, scissors for trimming facial hair, manicure sets and other similar small personal grooming items, are permitted onboard.

  • Hand and power tools

  • Martial arts and self-defense items

  • Sporting\recreational goods: may include, but are not limited to the following:

    Baseball and cricket bats

    Hockey\lacrosse sticks

    Skateboards, hoverboards, and roller skates

    Surf boards

    Golf clubs (permitted, stored in the cabin)

    Bicycles

    Scooters, regular or electrical (not for disability-related use)

    Remote-controlled helicopters, airplanes, drones or similar devices

    Scuba Diving Tanks

  • Disabling or dangerous chemicals:

    Chlorine

    Ammonia

    Bleach

    Insecticides\pesticides

    Spray paints

    Tear gas

    Pepper sprays\mace

    Spillable batteries (note: wheelchair batteries are permitted)

    Small compressed gas cartridges

    Fire extinguishers (not ship equipment)

    Other compressed gas cylinders (medical gas bottles are permitted - 680 liters or E / M-24 size, only 2 can be hand-carried, rest are delivered)

    HAM Radios

  • Liquids/food

    Alcoholic beverages, hard liquor, spirits, and beer are not permitted to be brought on board. Any alcohol in checked luggage will be collected on embarkation and returned once the voyage is complete.

    Passengers can bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags.

    Small quantities of water, dietary supplement drinks, non-alcoholic beer, or soft drinks in boxes and cans are permitted in hand luggage only. Drinks in bottles (glass or plastic) are not permitted. A small quantity is considered a maximum of twelve (12) sealed, unopened cans/cartons of twelve 12 ounces each or less per person.

  • Ice chests and coolers, except for those permitted for storing medications and items related to dietary restrictions

  • Homemade, pre-cooked, or perishable foods or open food containers

  • SeaShells and Corals

5. NorweGIan cruise line

  • All illegal narcotics/drugs. (Including Marijuana prescribed for medical purposes and other items used as drug paraphernalia. This includes all products containing CBD, oils, candies, and gummies or any product containing THC.

  • All firearms including replicas, imitations, non-firing weapons, starting pistols and their components

  • Air, BB or pellet pistols or rifles

  • Any other projectile-weapon or item that resembles or can be mistaken as a firearm (e.g., paint ball guns)

  • All ammunition or replica ammunition for listed line items 2, 3 & 4

  • All explosives, component parts (i.e. detonators) including imitation explosives and devices

  • Fireworks, flares, and pyrotechnics

  • Martial Arts Weapons (i.e. throwing stars, flails)

  • Knives with a blade longer than 4 inches/10.16 cm

  • Open razors

  • Swords, Skean Dhus, or Kirpans

  • Spears or spear guns

  • Crossbows, crossbow bolts, and long bow arrows

  • Blunt weapons including knuckle dusters, brass knuckles, clubs, telescopic batons, batons, flails or nunchaku

  • Items containing incapacitating substances (e.g. gas guns, tear gas sprays, mace, phosphorus, acid and other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable

  • Restraining Devices (i.e. handcuffs, leg, and head restraining straps)

  • Flammable substances and hazardous chemicals. (e.g., petrol, methylated spirits, paint thinners, lighter fuel, etc.)

  • Any other item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon

  • Stun devices (i.e. Tazers and Stun Guns)

  • Large batteries

  • Items brought on board the vessel and not supplied by the Company containing any kind of heating element, such as but not limited to: immersion heaters, heating blankets, clothing irons, water heaters, coffee machines with heating/hot plates, etc.

  • Any remotely controlled or autonomously flying devices, toys or drones

  • Self-balancing hover boards, air wheels, scooters, or Segway’s

  • Compressed gas tanks, bottles, cylinders including dive tanks, propane tanks and large aerosol cans

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), ham radios, satellite phones, transformers, lasers and laser pointers

  • Any form of radio/ telephone signal jamming equipment

  • Samsung Note 7

  • Candles

  • Inflatable kayaks

  • Metal detectors with lithium batteries

  • All types of fans with the exception of small electrical and battery-operated fans. *Please note, these fans are subject to confiscation by the ship’s security team for inspection and approval.

6. disney cruise line

Disney Cruise Line has a zero weapons policy and prohibits the following items on board the ships and ashore at Disney Castaway Cay:

  • Firearms

  • Firearm replicas, including non-firing, imitations, toys and their components

    • (Exceptions for Toys)

      • Store-bought Light Sabers

      • Plastic toy 'pirate' swords

      • Plastic store-bought toy “Mjolnir” hammers (Thor’s hammer)

  • Air, BB, pellet, paintball pistols, rifles and sling shot

  • Diving equipment air tanks, spears, spear guns, slings, dive knives, pry bars and underwater scooters

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), communication scanners, wide band receivers

  • Explosives components and accessories, including ammunition, detonators, fireworks, pyrotechnics and flares

  • Highly flammable liquids and combustible substances, including liquid oxygen

  • In accordance with United States federal regulations and local laws in the destinations where we visit, illegal narcotics/drugs, including synthetic, designer drugs and medically prescribed marijuana, are prohibited on board the ships and on Disney Castaway Cay. Additionally, all drug paraphernalia used for marijuana, cannabis and hemp is prohibited. Medically prescribed marijuana, as well as items derived from or enriched by marijuana, including items and products that contain THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and or CBD (Cannabidiol), are also prohibited.

  • Knives regardless of blade length, straight razors

  • Lasers

  • Restraining devices and offensive weapons, hand and leg cuffs, pepper spray and taser, stun guns

  • Scissors with blades exceeding 4” (scissors with blunt ends and no longer than 4 inches are allowed)

Guests found in possession of any weapons or similar prohibited items on their person or in their baggage may be denied boarding and are subject to severe legal penalties.

Additionally, the following items are restricted for safety reasons and should not be brought on board:

  • Agricultural Items

    • Bottle sterilizers and warmers (A limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available upon request through Guest Services)

    • Coffee makers

    • Diffusers

    • Electric blankets

    • Electric irons and steamers (all ships offer self-service laundry facilities equipped with irons and ironing boards)

    • Extension cords, power strips and surge protectors 

    • Heating pads

    • Hot plates

    • Microwave ovens

    • Rice cookers

    • Seasonal and/or celebratory light bulb strings

  • Exceptions for Electrical Appliances

    • Curling irons

    • Flat irons

    • Hair dryers (all ships offer a hand-held hair dryer in each stateroom)

    • The following electrical appliances will be collected for inspection by the Chief Electrician and if approved, will be returned for use onboard the ship.

    • Streaming devices (Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Google Chromecast, etc.)

  • Power tools, hand tools and toolboxes (except those utilized by vendors providing services)

  • Exceptions for Sporting Equipment

    • Golf Clubs may be brought on board and stored in a Guest’s stateroom

    • Baseballs, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls and volley balls may be brought on board, stored in Guest’s staterooms and used off the ship in ports of call

  • Wheeled recreational equipment and transport devices

    • Any footwear with wheels (i.e. Heely’s type shoes)

    • Bicycles

    • Hoverboards

    • Inline & roller skates

    • Scooters

    • Segways

    • Skateboards

    • Wagons (collapsible wagons are allowed)

    • Guests with a mobility disability that requires the use of a mobility aid should contact Special Services prior to sailing. Wheeled mobility devices with less than 3 wheels and devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered or unoccupied are not allowable.

7. princess cruises

  • All firearms including non-firing weapons. An exception to this rule is law enforcement agents acting in an official capacity and certified armed security guards acting in an official capacity (with full permission of the ship’s Master).

  • All forms of ammunition, explosive materials and propellants, projectiles of all kinds, cartridges.

  • All imitation or replica weapons including de-commissioned weapons, those not capable of being fired and realistic imitation/toy weapons.

  • Air/Pellet guns or any other variety of projectile firing weapon.

  • Stun Guns, Tasers or any other electroshock device.

  • All explosives and explosive device components including but not limited to military, civilian and safety devices, detonators, detonation cords, blasting caps, smoke cartridges, grenades, mines, imitation explosives/devices.

  • Fireworks, Flares and Pyrotechnics

  • Knives (with a blade over 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches), or 1.25 cm (½ inch) at widest point). bladed weapons, sharp pointed weapons, daggers, sabers, swords, axes, ice axes, hatchets, straight razors (shaving safety razors are allowed), razor blades not in a cartridge, box cutters, ice picks, meat cleavers, and utility knives, (unless specifically authorized for personnel who in the normal course of their duties on board the ship require to be in possession of a knife with a more substantial blade i.e. Galley Staff and Deck Ratings).

  • Flick knives, gravity knives, switchblades or lock knives. Small locking pocket-knife with blade lengths less than 6.35 cm (2 ½ inches) and widths ½ inch or less are allowed.

  • Concealed bladed weapons such as belt buckles knives, cane and umbrella knives/swords, pen knives and credit card knives.

  • Recreational Diver’s Knives unless accompanied by other diving/snorkeling equipment and a valid diving ID card/license (must be held in the custody of the Security Officer). Dive knives may be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise whereby 24 hours’ notice is provided.

  • Diver’s spears and spear guns/slings.

  • Ceremonial knives/swords as well as entertainment props are at times permitted with prior notification from the Fleet Security Department (must be held on-board in the same manner as dive knives).

  • Scissors with blades longer than 4 inches.

  • Telescopic or regular truncheons/batons/clubs/coshes/nightsticks/billy clubs/blow pipes/ASPs and or any other item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon.

  • Archery equipment including crossbows and bolts.

  • Catapults

  • Martial Arts Equipment including flails, throwing stars, nunchakus/nunchucks, kubatons, bostaff, etc.

  • Knuckle Dusters, brass knuckles, or any other item constructed for use as a weapon in hand-to-hand combat.

  • Handcuffs

  • Items containing Incapacitating Substances such as gas guns, tear gas sprays, pepper/mace cartridges, phosphorus, acid and other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable.

  • Flammable Liquids and hazardous chemicals/substances including gasoline/petrol, cooking fuel, acid, spill able batteries (except those in wheelchairs), phosphorous, oil, lighter fluid (common lighters are permitted), methylated spirits, paint thinners, acid, turpentine, spray paint, chlorine, bleach, spray paint and any other dangerous chemicals that could burn, maim, incapacitate or disable.

  • Compressed gas bottles/cylinders including propane tanks and aerosol cans (except for personal care or toiletries in limited quantities). Dive Tanks are not permitted, empty or full. Medical gas bottles are allowed in connection with a certified medical condition but cannot be packed in baggage. Oxygen cylinders must be delivered to Guest Services and stored in a designated safe area. Oxygen cylinders are not x-rayed.

  • Drones also referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicle (RPA), and any other remote-controlled aerial devices/toys. (The exception is when permitted for company sponsored events when approved in advance by Fleet Security).

  • Any other item made, adapted or intended for use as a weapon.

  • Hookah and Water Hookah Pipes, candles and incense, strike-anywhere matches.

  • Items brought on board the vessel and not supplied by the Company containing any kind of heating element, such as but not limited to: immersion heaters, heating blankets, flat irons, water heaters, coffee machines with heating / hot plates, etc.

  • Alcohol in violation of the company alcohol policy.

  • All illegal drugs, including medications without proper prescriptions.This includes legal intoxicant synthetic or “designer” drugs also known as “Legal Highs” such as Lysergamides, Opioids, Methoxetamine, Synthetic Cannabis, Betel Nuts or Kava (Cava).

  • Medical Marijuana

  • Poisons

  • Noxious Items

  • Baseball bats, hockey sticks, cricket bats, lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles, and skateboards.

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), Ham radios, transformers, lasers, laser pointers.

  • Bicycles, including electric bicycles

  • Tools of trade/hobby including any type of hand or power tool. This includes hammers, drills, drill bits, crow bars, saws, power saws, chef/cooking knives/utensils, tools greater than 7 inches in length such as screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers (unless prior authorization is provided by Corporate Headquarters and strict controls are maintained on-board).

  • Surfboards – (Boogie boards no longer than 42 inches in length are allowed).

  • Boats/canoes/kayaks

  • Coolers - only coolers approximately 12 x 12 x 12 in size (holds 6-12 cans of non-alcoholic beverages) are allowed. Guests carrying larger sizes will be directed to return them to their vehicle. If the guest is without a vehicle, the cooler will be destroyed in the same manner as other prohibited items. Exception: if the cooler is larger and contains baby food/formula, kosher food/special dietary food or medication - these must be hand-carried. Coolers cannot be accepted as checked baggage. Whenever there is doubt an embarkation supervisor or shipboard personnel can be contacted to make the decision.

  • Scooters (only permitted if used for mobility), boats/canoes/kayaks, Segways (only permitted ashore if used for mobility limitations – cannot be used on board the ship), Heely Shoes, Hoverboards/self-balancing scooters.

  • The above list is not exhaustive. The Ship Security Officer and Staff Captain are authorized to make a professional judgment as to the legality of any item, declared, detected or discovered.

  • *Electrical devices such as small fans, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, power strips/extension cords without surge protectors and electric extension cords with surge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution and following inspection/tests from the onboard electrical department. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard then they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.

8. carnival cruises

  • Any illegal narcotics/drugs including synthetic, designer drugs, Cannabidiol (CBD) and medical marijuana. While certain CBD products used for medicinal purposes may be legal in the US, they are not legal in all the ports we visit and therefore are also considered prohibited items. 

  • All weapons and any item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon: firearms (including replicas, imitations and their components), spears or spear guns, crossbows, crossbow bolts and long bow arrows; blunt weapons, including knuckle dusters, brass knuckles, clubs, coshes, batons, flails or Nunchaku; sharp pointed weapons, including throwing stars; air, BB, pellet pistols or rifles, stun devices and tasers, any projectile-weapon, including paintball guns, etc.

  • All items containing incapacitating substances, such as gas guns, tear gas sprays, mace, phosphorus, acid and other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable

  • All ammunition

  • All explosives, including imitation explosives and devices

  • Fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics

  • Flammable substances and hazardous chemicals (e.g., petrol, methylated spirits, paint thinners)

  • Compressed gas tanks, bottles, cylinders including dive tanks, propane tanks and aerosol cans (Refer to Exemptions)

  • Alcohol (hard liquor) and beer

  • Wine or champagne beyond the allowable limit of one 750 ml bottle per adult (21 years of age or older)

  • Non-alcoholic beverages in containers other than a can or carton; excessive quantities per person (over 12 cans/cartons per person); excessive size per can/carton (over 12 ounces each)

  • Electrical and household appliances containing any kind of heating element, such as irons, clothes steamers, immersion heaters, heating blankets, water heaters, coffee machines, hot plates, toasters, heating pads, humidifier, etc. (All Carnival ships provide facilities with ironing boards and irons; fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)

  • Knives, scissors and open razors. (Recreational dive knives are allowed but must be held in the custody of the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer and must be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise. Large scissors used by scrapbook and quilting enthusiasts are at times permitted with prior notification from the Security Services Department but are held on board in the same manner as dive knives.)

  • Handcuffs or other restraining devices

  • Self-balancing hover boards and air wheels

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), communication scanners, wideband receivers, satellite phones, transformers, lasers and laser pointers. 

  • Satellite disk, routers and other internet related equipment  

  • Boom boxes/large radios

  • Candles and incense

  • Helium filled balloons 

  • Inflatable kiddie pool

  • Hookahs

  • Any footwear with wheels, such as, Heely’s type shoes

  • Kava  

  • Surfboards, boats and canoes 

  • Fish of any kind; if fish are caught during an excursion, they must be shipped home

9. HOLLAND AMERICA

  • Martial Arts Equipment including flails, throwing stars, nunchakus/nunchucks, kubatons, bostaff, etc.

  • Knuckle dusters, brass knuckles, or any other item constructed for use as a weapon in hand-to-hand combat.

  • Stun Guns, Tasers or any other electroshock device.

  • Handcuffs

  • Items containing Incapacitating Substances such as gas guns, tear gas sprays, pepper/mace cartridges, phosphorus, acid and other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable.

  • Flammable liquids and hazardous chemicals/substances including gasoline/petrol, cooking fuel, acid, spill able batteries (except those in wheelchairs), phosphorous, oil, lighter fluid (common lighters are permitted), methylated spirits, paint thinners, turpentine, spray paint, chlorine, bleach, and any other dangerous chemicals that could burn, maim, incapacitate or disable.

  • Compressed gas bottles/cylinders including propane tanks and aerosol cans (except for personal care or toiletries in limited quantities). Dive Tanks are not permitted, empty or full. Medical gas bottles are allowed in connection with a certified medical condition but cannot be packed in baggage. Oxygen cylinders must be delivered to the Purser’s Office and stored in a designated safe area. Oxygen cylinders are not x-rayed. Restrictions may apply to guests that require supplemental Oxygen during the COVID-19 Pandemic – please review Health Protocols page and FAQs.

  • Drones also referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicle (RPA), and any other remote controlled aerial devices/toys.

  • Any other item made, adapted or intended for use as a weapon.

  • Hookah and Water Hookah Pipes, candles and incense, strike-anywhere matches, clothing irons, heating pads, hot plates, kettles, coffee makers, toasters and other electronic cooking appliances.

  • Alcohol in violation of the company alcohol policy.

  • All illegal drugs, including medications without proper prescriptions. This includes legal intoxicant synthetic or “designer” drugs also known as “Legal Highs” such as Lysergamides, Opioids, Methoxetamine, Synthetic Cannabis, Betel Nuts or Kava (Cava).

  • Medical Marijuana

  • Poisons

  • Noxious Items

  • Baseball bats, hockey sticks, cricket bats, lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles, and skateboards.

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), Ham radios, transformers, lasers, laser pointers, *electric extension cords with surge protectors.

  • Bicycles

  • Tools of trade/hobby including any type of hand or power tool. This includes hammers, drills, drill bits, crow bars, saws, power saws, chef/cooking knives/utensils, tools greater than 7 inches in length such as screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers (unless prior authorization is provided by Corporate Headquarters and strict controls are maintained on-board).

  • Surfboards - (Boogie boards no longer than 42 inches in length are allowed).

  • Coolers, only coolers approximately 12 x 12 x 12 inches in size (holds 6-12 cans of non-alcoholic beverages) are allowed. Guests carrying larger sizes will be directed to return them to their vehicle. If the guest is without a vehicle, the cooler will be destroyed in the same manner as other prohibited items.
    Exception: if the cooler is larger and contains baby food/formula, kosher food/special diet food or medication — these must be hand-carried. Coolers cannot be accepted as checked baggage. Whenever there is doubt an embarkation supervisor or shipboard personnel can be contacted to make the decision.

  • Scooters (only permitted if used for mobility), boats/canoes/kayaks, Segways (only permitted ashore if used for mobility limitations – cannot be used onboard the ship ), Heely Shoes, Hoverboards/self-balancing scooters.

  • Electrical devices such as small fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords withoutsurge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution.  However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard they will be confiscated.

10. cunard

  • Any illegal narcotics/drugs including synthetic and designer drugs

  • Medical marijuana (including CBD oil)

  • All firearms including replicas, imitations and their components

  • Air, BB or pellet pistols or rifles

  • Any other projectile-weapon (e.g., paint ball guns)

  • All ammunition

  • All explosives, including imitation explosives and devices

  • Electric streamers

  • Fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics

  • Sharp pointed weapons including throwing stars

  • Knives with a blade longer than 2.75 inches / 7cm, any blade length that is prohibited by local laws/regulation and all concealed bladed weapons such as belt buckle knives, cane and umbrella knives/swords, pen knives, credit card knives, etc

  • Open razors or scissors with a blade longer than 2.75 inches / 7cm

  • Skean Dhus or Kirpans

  • Spears or spear guns

  • Crossbows, crossbow bolts and long bow arrows

  • Blunt weapons including knuckle dusters, brass knuckles, clubs, coshes, batons, flails or nunchaku

  • Items containing incapacitating substances (e.g. gas guns, tear gas sprays, mace, phosphorus, acid and  other dangerous chemicals that could be used to maim or disable)

  • Flammable substances and hazardous chemicals

  • Any other item made, adapted or intended for use as an offensive weapon

  • Stun devices

  • Items not supplied by the Company containing any kind of heating element, such as but not limited to: immersion heaters, heating blankets, clothes irons, water heaters, coffee machines with heating / hot plates, etc.

  • Any remotely controlled or autonomously flying devices, toys or drones

  • Electric bicycles

  • Self-balancing hover boards, air wheels, scooters, or Segways

  • Compressed gas tanks, bottles, cylinders including dive tanks, propane tanks and aerosol cans

  • Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), ham radios, communication scanners, hand-held radios, wide-band receivers, satellite phones, transformers, lasers and laser pointers

  • Inflatables – with the exception of children’s swimming aids

  • Medical gas bottles are allowed in connection with a certified medical condition but cannot be packed in baggage.  Oxygen cylinders must be delivered to the pursers’ office and stored in a designated safe area

  • Any items or amounts of currency prohibited by customs regulations

  • Balloons - As part of our Ocean's Alive programme and our continued commitment to do everything we can to help protect our environment and wild/marine life, we no longer use or allow balloons of any kind on board Carnival UK ships
